Bracket Flexing

How does CVF avoid Bracket flexing?

All of our products are made from 6061-T6 aircraft quality aluminum. All CVF products are designed with the customer in mind. We will not cut corners to make our parts at a lower cost. A majority of our brackets are at least 5/8” thick. There are many aftermarket brackets available that are only ¼” thick!

What is 6061-T6 Aluminum?

6061 is one of the most versatile of the heat-treatable aluminum alloys. Has good tensile strength, the resistance of the material to breaking under tension. Its ultimate tensile strength is 310 MPa, which equals 45,000 psi and yield strength us 276 MPa, that's 40,000 psi.

I think my bracket is flexing. What do I do?

The chances of your bracket actually flexing are very very slim. Double check that all bolts are fully secured and torqued to the proper amount. If all those are secure check your spacers that were provided with your kit. Can the spacer move around on the bolt? If so you may need a slightly longer spacer.
